Aquí van mis 50 mejores y hago algunas aclaraciones. No he añadido bandas sonoras de películas sobre historias artúricas que no contengan elementos fantásticos o estén hechas pretendidamente desde un punto de vista realista e histórico, como por ejemplo Prince Valiant de Franz Waxman o Lancelot and Guinevere de Ron Goodwin, entre otras, que son estupendas pero que encajarían mucho mejor en una lista de bandas sonoras de películas ambientadas en la Edad Media. En algún caso no tengo del todo claro si se podrían considerar Fantasía medieval o Espada y brujería algunos títulos como The Dark Crystal, que a mi modo de verlo no tiene todos los elementos característicos del género y la entiendo más como una película de fantasía. También dejo fuera las que incluyen elementos de ciencia ficción tipo Krull, Masters of the Universe y Highlander. En cambio, sí incluyo algunas como El Corazón del Guerrero o el videojuego Ni No Kuni, que no se ambientan todo el tiempo en el mundo de Fantasía Medieval pero sí una parte considerable.
